Dry scrubbing methods are used in areas for the prevention of corrosion by gases and odours. Dry scrubbing is used where either the contaminate is not water soluble, thus cannot be abated through a wet scrubber or in areas where an installation of a wet scrubber is not practical such as remote locations.
SG Plastic manufactures a range of dry scrubbers for the removal of contaminants by adsorption, absorption, and chemisorption methods. Specialized pellets and blends are available for the treatment of Ammonia and Chlorine gases.
Our special packed media contains a minimum of 4% potassium permanganate for the removal of contaminates via oxidation reaction to inactive solids.
All dry scrubbers are designed as horizontal units and are built using DiBt approved thermo-plastics or Stainless Steel depending on application. Our range of dry scrubbers can be used for continuous scrubbing or emergency scrubbing applications. SG Plastic’s standardized designs can reach extraction rates of 8 000 Am3/hr with removal efficiencies of 98%+. All scrubbers incorporate a pre filter stage, 2 or 3 bank media stage and a high efficiency final filtration stage.
Documentation such as Data Packs, QCP’s, General Arrangements, Electrical Drawings etc. are available from our engineering department on request.
Our range includes:
Series | Description | Flow Rates | Contaminates | Efficiency |
---|---|---|---|---|
DH Series | Continuous gas / odour Scrubbers | > 10 000 Am3/hr | Acids / Alkalis / Odours | 98% + |
DE Series | Emergency Scrubbers | > 20 000 Am3/hr | Ammonia / Chlorine | 98% + |
